Biography

I am a lecturer in Southeast Asian geology and a member of the Southeast Asia Research Group at Royal Holloway, University of London

My key research themes are: terrestrial sedimentology; palaeoenvironment reconstruction; sediment provenance

Current Areas of Research

Myanmar – Cenozoic fill of the Salin sub-basin, Central Myanmar using provenance, depositional environment reconstruction, and extensive fieldwork

Vietnam – onshore-offshore correlations using provenance studies and heavy minerals

Sumatra – Looking to further the understanding of the Lahat and Lemat Formations in the South Sumatra Basin using both U-Pb zircon dating, and applying well-exposed analogue studies, and linking these deposits to the Central Sumatra Basin

Java – Assessing the optical properties of zircons from the recent eruptions of Bromo and Merapi
